Tests and Test-taking

CLEP

student thinking

The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) offers the opportunity for students to demonstrate college-level achievement in undergraduate courses. They are designed to award college credit for what students already know in Composition and Literature, Foreign Languages, History and Social Sciences, Science and Mathematics, and Business. Each exam is 90 minutes and primarily multiple-choice, though some exams do have fill-ins. The exception is the College Composition exam which is 120 minutes with multiple choice and 2 essay portions.

Contact your academic advisor to find out which CLEP tests you should take, and visit the CollegeBoard website for information about specific tests, to purchase study guides, and for further information on policies and procedures.
